Karuizawa Art Contrada CRAFT2013
We are pleased to present an exhibition of crafts by 26 artists living in Karuizawa in an old Meiji-era house.
A chair with the warmth of wood wrapped around your body, a stole that feels exquisite against your skin, your favorite rice bowl… The brilliance of craftsmanship born from careful handiwork has an irresistible appeal that cannot be replaced.
The happiness of savoring the beauty of professional craftsmanship and full expression in our daily lives. In this age of inexpensive mass-produced goods, we hope to continue to love this small, sublime pleasure forever.
In a small workshop surrounded by trees, artists are hard at work today. We hope that you will enjoy the exquisite works nurtured in Karuizawa’s climate at this exhibition.
