This is a one-day course that can be toured by bus departing from Karuizawa Station (with bus departure times). This course can be enjoyed by those who are not able to drive and those who like to drink.

Base for sightseeing in Karuizawa

Karuizawa Station is easily accessible by the Hokuriku Shinkansen Line, which takes approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes from Tokyo Station and 2 hours from Kanazawa Station, and is the base for sightseeing in Karuizawa, served by the Hokuriku Shinkansen Line and the Shinano Railway.

Shiraito Falls

Healing spot full of negative ions

Located at the source of the Yugawa River, this truly beautiful waterfall is 3 m high and 70 m wide, with hundreds of strands of underground water falling like white threads from the rocks. In spring, visitors can enjoy the fresh green foliage, in summer, the spray and cool breeze, and in autumn, the dazzling autumn leaves.

Karuizawa Shaw Memorial Chapel

A church nestled in a grove of trees

The oldest church in Karuizawa was the missionary church of the Canadian Alexander Croft Shaw, known as the "Father of Karuizawa," who made Karuizawa known as a summer resort.

Alexander Croft Shaw's villa has been restored next to the church as the "Shaw House Memorial" next to the church.

Old Karuizawa Ginza Street

Old Karuizawa Ginza Street

The main street of Old Karuizawa. Old established bakeries, coffee shops, souvenir stores and eateries line both sides of the 750-meter Old Karuizawa Ginza Street. The Karuizawa Tourist Hall, with its classic wooden exterior, provides tourist information. If you go a little further, you can also visit the Shaw Memorial Chapel!

Kumobaike Pond

Kumobaike Pond

Also known as "Swan Lake," this small pond has a very serene atmosphere with beautiful seasonal reflections on its surface.
The area around Kumobaike Pond is a 1-km walking path where visitors can enjoy the scenery while taking a leisurely stroll. It is a representative scenic spot in Karuizawa, especially beautiful during the season of fresh green and autumn leaves.

Harunire Terrace

Harunire Terrace

This "small town" consists of nine buildings nestled alongside a clear stream and connected by wooden decks, as if weaving between more than 100 native haru elm trees. The 16 unique stores and restaurants based on the concept of "everyday life in Karuizawa" will enrich your Karuizawa lifestyle.
