Hewett Art Gallery
Spot
The gallery will be the home of David Stanley Hewett, a contemporary artist based in Karuizawa. His work is highly acclaimed in Japan and around the world, and in 2017, his paintings were selected as a gift to the first lady of the United States from the wife of the Prime Minister of Japan. In addition to exhibiting his paintings, the gallery sells traditional Kanazawa gold leaf crafts, products made in collaboration with the wine glass manufacturer Riedel, and porcelain including tea and sake cups that Mr. Hewett has created himself. Anyone is welcome to visit the exhibition free of charge.
