Shishi-Iwa House is an international hospitality brand with deep roots in Japan. Combining a mastery of contemporary architecture, design, and art, it is an intimate collection of retreats characterized by culinary flair and a deep connection to nature. Shishi-Iwa House promotes sustainable architecture and its positive impact on human emotions and the environment. Shishi-Iwa House's first retreat is located in a national park in Karuizawa, where three architectural masterpieces are located: SSH No. 01 and SSH No. 02 by Shigeru Ban and SSH No. 03 by Ryue Nishizawa. SSH No. 04 is by Kazuyo Sejima and will open in Hakone in 2026; SSH No. 05 is a wellness retreat in Karuizawa, designed by Junya Ishigami and scheduled to open in 2027. Subsequent openings in international locales are planned.
