2022 Karuizawa Photo Contest
Held on Instagram! (Application has been closed)

 

We are looking for entries under the themes of “Karuizawa’s Traditions and Scenery” and “Karuizawa Life.

Karuizawa Life is a wellness resort, sports, telework, weddings and daily life in Karuizawa.

How to participate

1. Photograph “nice” moments in Karuizawa.
2. Follow the official Karuizawa Photo Contest account @karuizawaphoto.official on your Instagram account.
3. Post photos taken in Karuizawa on Instagram with the hashtag ” #2022KaruizawaPhotocontest” or ” #2022karuizawaphotocontest”.
4. We will repost the photos that match the theme of the contest on the official Karuizawa Photo Contest account from time to time. The winners will be notified by the contest committee via SNS direct message. In addition, the Grand Prix, Traditional Landscape Category Award, Karuizawa Life Category Award, Sponsor’s Special Award, and Honorable Mention Award will be selected.

The photographer of the winning entry will be contacted by the contest committee via SNS direct message.

Award Summary

Grand Prix (1) : 30,000 yen
Traditional Landscape Division Award (2) : 10,000 yen
Karuizawa Life Division Prize (2) : 10,000 yen
Sponsor’s Special Prize (4) : 3,000 yen
Karuizawa Winter Stories Award (4 prizes): Prizes, etc.
Honorable Mention (30 entries): To be announced on the web.
Winning entries will be announced on the Karuizawa Tourism Association website and official SNS account. Entries will also be used in publicity and other activities.
*Prizes and merchandise must be shipped to domestic destinations only.

[Eligibility.

Everyone is welcome to apply, regardless of professional or amateur, nationality, gender, or age.

Application Rules

Entries must have been taken by the submitter himself/herself between April 1, 2022 and February 3, 2023, and must not have been previously published. Please note that the year to be used in the hashtag must be 2022, even if the photo was taken in the year 2023.
Photos that are composites or extremely processed will not be considered (brightness, saturation, etc. adjustments and cropping within the scope of development are acceptable).

Notes on Application

Copyrights to all entries and prize-winning works belong to the photographers.
The organizer and sponsors may use the winning entries free of charge for the purpose of promoting tourism in Karuizawa, in media such as PR magazines and websites, in collections of works, in exhibitions, and in displays at other facilities, etc., provided that the photographer’s name or pseudonym is indicated. In addition, the images may be cropped, color-corrected, or otherwise modified as necessary.
The winning entries must be submitted as data, so please save the original data.
If a third party’s permission (portrait rights) is required, it is the responsibility of the entrant to obtain such permission before submitting the entry. The organizer will not be responsible for any complaints or objections from third parties regarding infringement of their rights or compensation for damages in connection with the entries or prize-winning works. The entrant shall be responsible for resolving any such issues.
Entries and prize-winning entries will be invalidated if they are taken in prohibited areas, offensive to public order and morals, defamatory of others, or otherwise deemed inappropriate by the organizer.
