2026.03.13〜2026.03.15

The KARUIZAWA INTERNATIONAL (Curling) is an international competition that has been held annually since 1999, commemorating the curling events of the Nagano Olympics, hosted in Japan in 1998, which took place in Karuizawa. As Japan’s longest-running curling competition and an international event carrying on the Olympic legacy, it attracts top teams from around the world who are active on the global stage. Each year, many spectators visit Karuizawa to witness the thrilling matches up close.

Curling is a sport played on ice where players slide stones into a circular target called the house, located about 40 meters away, competing for points. The sport requires advanced techniques and strategic thinking to anticipate future plays, earning it the nickname “chess on ice.”

While most curling competitions are held in Canada and Europe, the KARUIZAWA INTERNATIONAL (Curling) tournament, held in Karuizawa Town, Japan, has earned high praise from both participating athletes and spectators alike.

The KARUIZAWA INTERNATIONAL (Curling) continuously introduces new initiatives to deliver a better tournament experience. Starting this year, tickets are now available through “Tickets in Japan,” a ticketing service for international visitors to Japan, making it possible to accommodate spectators from overseas.
