Old and New Karuizawa

10/18 Holiday Walk in Karuizawa 2020 to be held / application deadline 10/9

Why not take a walk in Karuizawa in deep autumn, surrounded by beautiful autumn leaves?
We have prepared a mountain forest trail course that climbs up to a viewing platform with a view of Mount Asama, and a town walking course to enjoy the Karuizawa cityscape.
You are welcome to bring your dog!

(1) Old Usui Pass scenic trail course (about 12 km/3 hours)
(2) Old Karuizawa Town Walking Course (approx. 6.7 km / 2 hours)

entry qualifications

Residents of Nagano Prefecture who are in good health and able to participate on the day of the event. Junior high school students and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Please fill out the physical condition checklist in advance.

[With dog.]
(1) Dogs must be at least 4 months old and have been vaccinated against rabies and mixed vaccine. Please bring the certificate of vaccination on the day of the event. If you do not have them, we may refuse your dog’s participation.
(2) Owner and dog must be able to walk the distance of either of the above two courses.
(3) Not be in the habit of barking or biting people or other dogs.
(4) Water and food will not be provided by the organizers. We ask that owners prepare their own water and food.
(5) Please keep your pet securely leashed on the day of the event. The organizers will not be held responsible for any accidents or straying from the owner.
(6) On the day of the event, please bring drinking water, treats, a bag for feces, water for pee-pee flushing, and a leash.

Participation Fee

General (high school students and older) 1,800 yen
Elementary and junior high school students 800 yen
All participants on the day of the event: +500 yen.
500 yen per dog
All include consumption tax.
*Free for preschool children
