Among the related ministerial meetings accompanying the G20 Summit, which will be held in Japan for the first time, the Ministerial Meeting on Energy Transition for Sustainable Growth and Global Environment will be held at Karuizawa Prince Hotel on Saturday, June 15 and Sunday, June 16.
This meeting is the largest international conference to date, with more than 50 ministerial-level participants and an overall expected 1,000 participants. This is because many of the participants from various countries are expected to use the Shinkansen bullet train,
If the ministers’ arrival is concentrated, the North Exit of Karuizawa Station will be very crowded.
The North Exit of Karuizawa Station is expected to be very crowded when the ministers arrive in large numbers.
To avoid congestion at the North Exit of the station,
Please use the South Exit during the G20 Ministerial Meeting.

Scheduled suspension of use of space inside JR Karuizawa Station
Sawayaka Hall on the 3rd floor and Community Plaza: June 12-16
Karuizawa Station parking lot will be shut down
North Exit Plaza Parking Lot 1: from 9:00 p.m. on the 13th to 8:00 p.m. on the 14th

Karuizawa Prince Shopping Plaza, Karuizawa Station South Exit: Suspended from June 14-16
Shinano Railway Karuizawa Station 3F: Suspended from June 13, 18:00 to 16:00
East side of JR Karuizawa Station North Exit and North Exit Central: Suspended from around 6:00 p.m. on June 13 to 16.
*Only the west side (staircase side) of Karuizawa Station North Exit (1F) can be used.
*Luggage storage at Shinano Railway Karuizawa Station: Service suspended from June 14 to 16.
Karuizawa Station North Exit: Bicycle rental service is normally open. Luggage storage available.

Traffic Regulations around Karuizawa Prince Hotel and Karuizawa Station
Period: Thursday, June 13, 9:00 p.m. to Sunday, June 16, 9:00 p.m.
Traffic regulations will be enforced around the Karuizawa Prince Hotel and Karuizawa Station to ensure the safe and smooth operation of the G20 Ministerial Meeting to be held in Karuizawa.
The details of the regulations are as follows. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
Type of traffic regulation: No parking regulation
Traffic control locations
(1) Prefectural road Shimonita-Karuizawa line (commonly known as Prince Street)
Approximately 1300m between the Shin-Karuizawa intersection and the Iriyama Pass entrance intersection
(Five parking strips in the same section will be blocked off and unavailable during the period.)
(2) Town Road Iriyama Pass Line
Approximately 750m between the Iriyama Pass entrance intersection and The Prince intersection
(iii) Town road Karuizawa Station South Line
Approximately 1850m between the outlet entrance intersection and the Route 18 confluence intersection.

In order to ensure the safe and smooth progress of the G20 Ministerial Meeting to be held in Karuizawa, it is necessary to control the total amount of traffic in Karuizawa Town and around the Karuizawa Prince Hotel, the venue of the meeting.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to those passing through the JR Karuizawa Station area, and ask for your cooperation in easing traffic congestion by using public transportation, refraining from using your own car, and adjusting the operation of business vehicles.

Prohibition of Small Unmanned Aircraft Flights
In order to prevent danger to dignitaries, ensure the smooth implementation of the conference and the safety of local residents, the flying of drones and other small unmanned aircraft will be prohibited throughout the town during the following period.
No-fly period: Wednesday, June 12 through Monday, June 17
