As previously announced, the Karuizawa Half Marathon 2021, which was scheduled to be held on May 16, 2021, has unfortunately been cancelled to prevent the spread of new corona infection. We are very sorry to inform runners who were looking forward to participating in the event that it has been cancelled for the second year in a row.
Since the decision was made to cancel the event, the convention secretariat has been exploring the possibility of holding an alternative event that would showcase the charms of Karuizawa. However, since the new Corona Disaster will not be able to provide sufficient satisfaction to all participants, we have decided not to hold an alternative event, but to make thorough preparations to ensure that the next event in 2022 will once again be supported by everyone. We sincerely ask for the understanding of all runners.
The next competition is scheduled to be held on Sunday, May 15, 2022, and priority will be given to those who have entered the 2020 competition. The registration period is scheduled to begin around January 2022. More detailed information will be provided via DM, official website, SNS, etc.
The organizers look forward to welcoming you all to Karuizawa and seeing you again in the lush green of the city.
